When to Use This Ward
Use this working when a room needs to feel steadier, safer, or more held. It is a gentle ward for creating calm boundaries without making the space feel closed or heavy.
It is especially useful in bedrooms, work rooms, sitting rooms, or any place where people rest, gather, think, or recover.
You Will Need
- Four small bowls, stones, tealights, or folded pieces of paper
- A pinch of salt or dried herbs for each corner
- Optional: rosemary, bay, lavender, thyme, or a tiny charm
- A quiet room and a few moments to walk its edges
The Working
Begin at the doorway of the room. Take a slow breath and notice the four corners, letting your eyes move gently around the space.
Place one small bowl, stone, paper, or charm in each corner. If you are using herbs or salt, add a little to each one as you go.
At each corner, pause and imagine a quiet point of warmth and steadiness settling there. Nothing harsh. Nothing sharp. Just a soft boundary, like lamplight resting against the walls.
When all four corners are set, stand near the centre of the room or by the doorway and speak the warding words below.
Four corners, hold this room,
Keep it kind and keep it true.
Wall and window, floor and door,
Peace be kept here evermore.
To Finish
Leave the corner charms in place for a night, a week, or as long as the room needs them.
When the ward feels complete, gather each piece with thanks. Return herbs or salt to the earth or bin, wash bowls clean, and keep any stones or charms for future use.
